Private ledger · Android · iOS · Windows

Your balance — including the part that hasn’t happened yet.

Alvenera is a personal ledger that runs entirely on your device. Enter what is scheduled — rent, pay, instalments — and every balance ahead is already there. No bank login, no cloud account, nobody else holding your numbers. Out now on Windows, in the Microsoft Store — Android and iOS are on the way.

One account. One column. No surprises.

Every line carries its own running balance, the way a real ledger does. Scheduled entries appear greyed at their future date with the balance they will produce — so you see the 15th before you get to it.

The balance follows every line

Not just a total at the top of the screen. Each transaction shows the balance it leaves behind, so finding the moment the account turned takes a second.

Three degrees of certainty

Checked against a statement: bold figure, solid rule, a stamp. Typed by hand: regular weight, a hairline. Projected: brass, light, a dashed rule. The row’s own typography says how true it is — there is no legend to learn.

The future is legible, not faded

Recurring payments appear in the ledger at their date, in brass under a dashed rule — not dimmed. A forecast should be legible; it just should never be mistaken for a bank balance.

A transfer stays one thing

Money moved from chequing to savings has not been spent and has not been earned — it has changed places. You enter it once and both accounts are written for you; edit one side and the other follows. It never reaches Where or the Budget, because the more carefully you moved your own money the more they would report you spending.

Six screens. No filler.

Every screen earns its place in the tab bar. There is no dashboard summarising the other screens, no activity feed, no credit-card offers.

Ledger

Every entry with its category, its reconciliation state and the running balance it leaves. Search, filters, swipe to edit or delete.

Runway

The floor: the lowest your balance gets in the next thirty days, the date it happens, and the entry that takes it there. One sentence, not a dashboard.

Where

Spending by category over a month, three months or the year — the range is one tap, not two date pickers. The total is set against the period before it, because otherwise it is just a number.

Budget

Two halves, kept apart. Plan is the form: what each category may cost, copied from last month in one gesture. Track answers the question a bar alone cannot — 78% spent is comfortable on the 28th and alarming on the 8th — and counts the bills that have not landed yet.

Due

Recurring payments, automatic transfers, loans and credit cards, each with the arithmetic behind it: interest, principal, payoff date and total cost. Ask what paying more would buy — interest saved, months removed — then apply it. Every instalment posts to the paying account's ledger.

Reconcile

OFX, QFX and CSV. Alvenera stamps what it is sure of and queues the rest: the statement line, the ledger entry it might be, how far apart they are, and how sure it is. Two buttons, no default.

The safest place for your finances is the one nobody else can reach.

Alvenera has no server. There is no account to create, nothing to sync, and no address your data could be sent to. That is an architectural decision, not a promise in a policy.

What that means: without that password no backup can be restored — not on this device, not on another, not by us. There is no back door, because there is nobody behind the door.

Data stays where you put it

A single database file on your device. Settings shows you exactly where it is — not a vague category, the path.

A password locks the app

Optional, and honest about the trade-off: a forgotten password cannot be recovered. The app tells you so before you choose one, not after.

You decide where the backup goes

Pick a folder, a USB key, your own cloud. Alvenera writes the encrypted file and stops there.

Bring the last ten years with you.

Nobody switches ledgers in order to start from nothing. Alvenera reads what your bank exports.

Import a statement

Drop in an OFX, QFX or CSV file. The format is detected, along with the delimiter and the date pattern, and you see the result before anything is written.

Reconcile against what you have

Imported entries are matched against what you already keyed in. Skipped rows are counted and shown; you match or unmatch by hand when the bank has its own idea of the date.

Carry on, in your language

French and English are at full parity, not a partial translation bolted on afterwards. Switch in Settings and the app follows, date and currency formats included.

On Windows, now: Alvenera is in the Microsoft Store. Android and iOS come next, and we are not announcing a date for them until we are sure of it — a ledger shipped half-finished to hit a date is not a ledger. Leave your address at the bottom of this page and you will hear on the day.
No, and that is deliberate. A bank connection implies a middleman holding your credentials and seeing your transactions. Alvenera reads the files your bank already gives you instead — OFX, QFX, CSV — and nothing leaves the device.
You create a backup, move it like any other file, and restore it on the new device. If you have set an app password the backup is encrypted with it, and you will need that same password to restore.
No. That is the exact counterpart of having no server: there is no copy of your key anywhere. The app warns you before you choose a password, and recommends making a backup first.
From what you entered, and nothing else. The recurring payments, loan instalments and card payments you created are projected at their dates into the paying account's ledger. There is no prediction, no model, no average of your habits.
Alvenera works it out, because no statement does. Give it the balance, the rate and how you pay — the minimum, or a fixed amount — and it returns the date the balance reaches zero and what the interest comes to. Whenever you pay more than the minimum it also shows what the minimum alone would have cost, which is usually a decade further out than anyone expects.
That is the reason to enter a debt at all. Type an extra amount — on every payment, or once — and Alvenera puts the two futures side by side: the one your terms describe, and the one the extra money buys, in interest saved and months removed. Nothing is committed until you apply it; when you do, the schedule and the ledger are rewritten and the payments you now never make disappear.
Yes, and it is treated as one movement rather than two entries. You enter it once, both ledgers are written the same day for the same amount, and the two halves stay tied together: edit one and the other follows, delete one and both go. A payday sweep into savings goes on the Due screen and projects into both accounts. No transfer counts as spending or as income, because it is neither.
No. The app carries its own guide — one article per screen, and one per idea it is built on — reached from a question mark on every screen, so the explanation is where you already are. On a first run, five cards say what the app does and what it needs from you; after that a short checklist on the Runway screen tracks the setup and leaves on its own once it is done. The same guide is on this site with screenshots added, and each article in the app has a link that opens its web version in your browser. All of it in French and English, like everything else.
Yes. French and English share one string file and the same coverage: every screen, every error message, every prompt. Language is changed in Settings and carries the date and currency formats with it.
Neither. There is no ad network, no telemetry, no analytics identifier. The app has no reason to open a network connection, so it does not open one.
Now on Windows

Alvenera is out on Windows. Your phone is next.

The ledger, budgets, commitments and encrypted backups described on this page are in the Windows version, out now in the Microsoft Store. Android and iOS get the same app; what is left is the time it takes to finish it properly. Leave us a line and we will write once — on the day they ship.
