Saving towards a goal
How much, by when, and whether the pace gets there.
A goal is an amount being saved towards: an emergency fund, a trip, the insurance premium due in March. You add them on the Due screen.
Save it into an account — a savings account opened for the purpose — and its progress is that account's balance, which keeps itself up to date. Leave it without an account and you say how much has been set aside.
What a goal tells you#
- How far along it is.
- With a target date, what a month needs to arrive on time.
- With an account, the pace your recurring transfers into it actually set, and the month that pace reaches the target. It turns brass when that is later than the date.
Set up a monthly transfer, in the goal's menu, opens a recurring transfer into the goal's account, already filled in with what a month needs.
