What has happened, and what is going to
The ledger holds both, and never lets you confuse the two.
Most ledgers are a record of the past. This one keeps the future in the same list, because a shortfall you cannot see coming is no use to you.
Entries dated after today are drawn light, in brass, under a dashed rule. They are forecasts. Entries in the past are in ordinary ink, and once a bank statement has confirmed one it carries a tick and the app will state it without hedging.
You can always tell, at a glance, which figures are facts and which are expectations. Nothing is dressed up as more certain than it is.
